Shakira, the Colombian singer, recently landed in Haiti to help earthquake survivors in search of suitable land to build a school for children. Shakira's Pies Descalzos foundation will finance the construction of a new school. In addition to her help in Haiti, she has provided nutrition for more than 6,000 children in Colombia and remains as a member of the ALAS foundation that advocates for children across Latin America.
